Seven Waves

We were all brainstorming on a new name for our brand new funky line of tops and tunics. We tried translating names from 'tupi-guarani", which is a language used by Indians that are found in Brazil. We tried exotic names that actually didn't have any meaning.

At the same time, I had a piece of one of our dresses in my hand and on the front of the dress, it read "Jump Seven Waves" several times. Then my husband asked the meaning of Seven Waves... so I explained!

On New Year's Eve, Brazilians have a tradition to march to their favorite beach to welcome the New Year by jumping "Seven Waves" for Hope and New Beginnings. In a way, that spiritual ritual helps us to start the year with a clean slate and full of hope!

So needless to say, after that explanation, the name of our new line was a no-brainer: Seven Waves

Seven Waves represents the Brazilian "Dolce Vita" (sweet life) which is reflected in this artisanal product, where each piece has unique characteristics in a mix of fabrics, shapes & textures for its individuality. Take a moment to notice all the handiwork involved on each piece.
